The lawsuit – led by attorneys general of Connecticut and Texas – alleged that the Juul deliberately engaged in an advertising campaign that appealed to youth with launch parties, advertisements using young and trendy-looking models, social media posts, and free samples. The settlement prohibits Juul from marketing to youth and from funding education programs in schools. It also bans anyone under the age of 35 from being depicted in marketing materials.
