- The U.S. government plans to more directly control where COVID-19 antibody treatments are sent amid a surge in infections and hospitalizations in states with large pockets of unvaccinated people. The Biden administration bought 1.4 million additional doses of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s monoclonal antibody treatments and said HHS will decide how much of the treatment will go to each state “on a weekly basis.” The move essentially bars hospitals and other care providers to directly order monoclonal antibody therapies from distributors. - Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said the pharma company expects to release clinical trial data this fall on how well its COVID-19 vaccine works in children. Pfizer could be ready to submit data for 5-year-old to 11-year-old children to the FDA by the end of September. Data for 6-month to 5-year-old children could be released as early as the end of October. (Article here)
