- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority awarded Vir Biotechnology Inc. a multiyear, $55 million contract to develop drugs that combat seasonal and pandemic flu viruses. The deal includes the option for Vir to earn up to $1 billion on the development of other treatments for emerging infectious diseases and medical countermeasures. (Article here)
