- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will hold a public hearing April 29 about its emergency temporary standard to protect health care workers from workplace exposure to COVID-19. The temporary standard required health care providers to provide vital personal protective equipment for workers and included rules regarding ventilation, physical barriers, and other safety-related issues. OSHA issued the standard in June, and it expired in December. A coalition of 115 House members and health care unions have pushed the agency to reinstall protections. (Article here)
