  • Moody’s Investors Service released a report showing that strong enrollment growth in Medicare Advantage and Medicaid helped insurers have a solid first quarter. According to the report, the average growth in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) among seven major national players was 3.7 percent in the first quarter. The report also notes that several key trends – including the end of the public health emergency and the expiration of enhanced subsidies for plans on the Affordable Care Act’s exchanges – could have a material impact on the credit outlook for health plans.
