- President Joe Biden is expected to announce new executive actions to address climate change today. A senior White House official said that all options remain on the table and no decision has been made on the matter; however, the president is expected to stop short of issuing a climate emergency declaration. The actions come after Senator Joe Manchin last week blocked Democrats’ efforts on sweeping climate legislation, citing concerns about inflation, and the Supreme Court curtailed the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate carbon emissions from existing power plants.
