- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new data indicating that nearly 60 percent of U.S. adults and 75 percent of children under the age of 18 have antibodies that indicate prior COVID-19 coronavirus infection. According to the study, as of February 2022, 64 percent of adults aged 18 to 49, 50 percent of those aged 50 to 60, and 33 percent of those aged 65 and older have had COVID-19. The CDC stressed it is still not known how long this kind of infection-induced immunity lasts, or whether all people who tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies continue to have protection from their prior infection.
