- HCA Healthcare announced it has agreed to buy five hospitals in Utah owned by Steward Health Care. The additional hospitals will bolster the health system’s presence in its Mountain Division – which includes 11 hospitals in Utah, Idaho, and Alaska – and allow HCA Healthcare to compete with Intermountain Healthcare, which is Utah’s largest provider.
