- Best Buy announced it will acquire Current Health, a British tech company that helps with remote patient monitoring and telehealth. The acquisition bolsters the company’s health portfolio. Best Buy acquired GreatCall – a company makes easy-to-use cell phones and connected health devices and provides emergency response services for aging adults – Critical Signal Technologies in 2019. - Virgin Pulse, the employer wellness arm of Richard Branson’s company Virgin Group, announced it plans to acquire Welltok, a patient engagement company that offers personalized content and resources. According to Virgin Pulse executives, the acquisition will expand its communication capabilities and accelerate its ability to serve substantially more customers and patients across the full health care continuum – employers, health systems, pharmacies/pharmacy benefit managers, and health plans. Welltok offers additional communication channels, including text/SMS, mail, social and interactive voice response. (Article here)
