- The CDC strengthened its COVID-19 booster recommendation Monday, saying that all American adults “should” get booster doses of the available COVID-19 vaccines. The agency had previously said that Americans over age 50, as well as those ages 18 and older living in long-term care facilities, “should” get booster shots while all other adults “may” decide to do so based on their individual risk.
