- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is set to once again extend the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE). HHS has repeatedly renewed the emergency since it was originally declared in January and last renewed the PHE April 16 for another increment of 90 days with a pledge to provide states with 60 days’ notice if it decided to terminate the declaration or allow it to expire. The next extension is expected to take effect Friday, July 15. (Article here)
