- United Healthcare has awarded $11.1 million in grants spread across 66 nonprofit organizations to improve the health care options for individuals living in underserved communities by addressing social determinants of health. Specifically, the grant funding will be used to target food insecurity, social isolation, behavioral health issues, and health literacy efforts. The organizations to be awarded grants operate in Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, and Washington.
