- A report from the Healthcare Leadership Council found that addressing health disparities in the U.S. will require a multi-front approach. The report – based on in-depth interviews with 35 member companies, public and patient data, a literature review, and workshop – highlights several key challenges: 1) a lack of standardized data collection, sharing, and outcome measures for insights into health disparities; 2) certain populations are less likely to benefit from research and clinical trials due to lack of representation; and 3) regulatory restrictions, such as anti-kickback laws, limit health equity-focused partnerships. To address these challenges, the report outlines specific insights and recommendations for policymakers, providers, payers, life sciences, and connectors. (Report here)
