- New documents released by the FDA indicate that mixing and matching the COVID-19 vaccines could be done safely. According to the documents, recipients of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine may benefit from a second shot. However, separate data collected by the National Institutes of Health show that people who received a shot of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine have a stronger neutralizing antibody response if they receive an mRNA booster shot rather than a J&J one.
