- The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) released its annual regulatory burden report, revealing that the new requirement in the No Surprises Act to offer good faith estimates is creating substantial administrative burden. Eighty-one percent of executives said that prior authorization was the top source of frustration while 70 percent cited the good faith estimate requirements. MGMA found that 82 percent of practices say the estimate requirement increased administrative burden and 74 percent don’t have the technical infrastructure ready to comply with the new requirements set to start in 2023.
