- West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced that the state reached a tentative $161.5 million settlement with Teva Pharmaceuticals Inc. and AbbVie’s Allergan over the opioid epidemic. Under the tentative deal, West Virginia would receive more than $134.5 million in cash and $27 million worth of Narcan from Teva. According to a previous announcement by Morrisey, 72.5 percent of the settlement will go to a nonprofit foundation established to distribute money in opioid-related litigations, 24.5 percent would be allocated to local governments and 3 percent would go to the state.
