- Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliates and other payers filed a lawsuit against Walgreens for knowingly overcharging payers and customers for prescription drugs. The lawsuit alleges that Walgreens submitted claims with artificially inflated drug prices for more than a decade, forcing the payers to increase consumer copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and premiums. The plaintiffs say they are owed at least the amount of money they were overcharged on reimbursement claims. (Article here)
