Payers
  • An investigative report by Kaiser Health News and NPR found that more than 100 million Americans have medical debt. According to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll, a quarter of those with debt owe $5,000 or more and approximately 13 percent owe $10,000 or more – 18 percent with any medical debt said they didn’t expect to ever pay it off. The debt burden is forcing families to cut spending on food and other essentials and driving some into homelessness or bankruptcy. (Report here)
