- Pfizer and Moderna announced plans to seek additional FDA approvals for their respective COVID-19 vaccines. Pfizer said it will submit its application for a third dose of its vaccine for everyone ages 16 and older by the end of this week. Federal regulators are likely to approve a booster for vaccinated adults starting at least six months after the previous dose rather than the eight-month gap they previously announced. Moderna announced it completed its application for full FDA approval of its two-dose vaccine. (Articles here, here, here, here, here, here, and here)
