- The Commonwealth Fund released a new issue brief examining experiences of racial discrimination in health care settings among Latinx/Hispanic and Black older adults. The brief found that almost 25 percent of Black and Latino adults ages 60 and older say health care professionals treated them unfairly or ignored their health concerns because of race or ethnicity. More than a quarter of those who reported experiencing discrimination said it prevented them from getting the care they felt they needed as a result. The brief recommends five steps to tackle discrimination, including addressing the lack of diversity in the U.S. health care workforce. (Issue Brief here)
