- The White House proposed a new federal rule to limit how law enforcement and state officials collect medical records if they investigate women who flee their home states to seek abortions elsewhere. The White House’s proposed rule would prohibit health care organizations from sharing personal medical records with authorities for investigations related to reproductive care in states where a woman legally obtained an abortion. - President Joe Biden is expected to announce today that the administration is expanding eligibility for Medicaid and health insurance plans offered through the Affordable Care Act exchanges to hundreds of thousands of people who are part of the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). The action will allow participants in the DACA program to access government-funded health insurance programs. An estimated 580,000 people were still enrolled in DACA at the end of last year, according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. (Article here)
