- Johnson & Johnson plans to ask the FDA early this week to authorize a booster shot of its COVID-19 vaccine. Recent federal data shows that the 15 million Americans who got Johnson & Johnson’s one-dose vaccine may have less protection than those who received shots made by Moderna Inc. or Pfizer Inc.-BioNTech SE. On October 26, the committee will discuss an anticipated request from Pfizer to amend its emergency use authorization for the use of its COVID-19 vaccine in children ages 5-11. (Article here)
