- USAID officials expect federal funding for the global COVID-19 vaccination effort to run dry in the coming months. Jeremy Konyndyk, the executive director of the agency’s COVID-19 task force, warned that it would make the U.S. more vulnerable due to the emergence of new variants in other countries.
