- A new study published in JAMA Network Open found that the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine remains durable and effective. According to the research, the J&J shot was 76 percent effective in preventing COVID-19 infections and 81 percent effective in preventing COVID-related hospitalizations. The study also showed that it provided lasting immunity at least six months after the shots. A separate analysis showed the vaccine had the lowest breakthrough infection rate. The Moderna vaccine has the next lowest while the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine had the highest. (Articles here and here)
