- Confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will kick off later today. Jackson is a former federal public defender who has sat on lower U.S. courts for nearly a decade. Early in her career, she also served as a law clerk to retiring Justice Stephen Breyer, who she will succeed, if confirmed.
