- Pfizer Inc. announced it will acquire Arena Pharmaceuticals in an effort to expand its treatment offerings for immuno-inflammatory diseases. Arena is working on therapies for gastroenterology, dermatology, and cardiology. Pfizer said it plans to speed clinical development of an experimental treatment, contributing to its growth through 2025 and beyond. The deal is valued at about $6.7 billion.
