- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a final rule that withdraws the SUNSET rule. The SUNSET rule, passed on the last day of the Trump administration, would have required HHS to conduct a massive review of its existing regulations within five years. Any rule not reviewed within that time would be pulled completely. The agency said the rule created major burdens on staff and the industry. HHS estimated that withdrawing the rule will save the agency nearly $70 million over the next 10 years. (Articles here and here)
