- Eight House Republicans joined Democrats to pass a bill protecting the right to contraception. The measure would penalize those who restrict access to oral, emergency, and long-acting reversible contraceptives, and other birth control methods. The legislation, which passed 228 to 195, drew slightly more Republican support than the other two bills that the House has passed to ensure access to abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v.
