- A new report from the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families proposes several reforms to ensure the Transparency in Coverage data are more usable and accessible. The report found that most insurers have complied with the rule, however; the data is too hard to find and understand, some data have questionable quality, and many of the data files are far too large to access without a supercomputer. The report recommends that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reduce the frequency of reporting from monthly to quarterly or even biannually and require clear and standardized labels for each file, among other measures.
