- A survey from Willis Towers Watson found that most U.S. employers offer coverage for medically necessary and elective abortions in states where it’s allowed. Among self-insured employers, 97 percent cover medically necessary abortions and 78 percent cover elective abortions where allowed. The figures among fully-insured plans are 98 percent and 91 percent, respectively. Thirty-five percent also already offer travel and lodging benefits for elective and medically necessary abortions; another 16 percent are considering offering it next year.(Press release here)
